The Canadian Research Knowledge Network’s 67 participating libraries have confirmed their renewal of the SCOAP³ initiative for another three-year term, covering 2020-2022.
Phase III of SCOAP³ will include articles published from January 1, 2020 to December 31, 2022 in all eleven journals which participated in Phase II. To date, SCOAP³ funds, to which CRKN members and institutions around the world contribute, have enabled the open access publishing of over 32,000 articles at well below average article processing charge (APC) rates.
SCOAP³ is a global open access initiative involving the collaboration of over one thousand libraries, library consortia and research organizations, allowing for journals in the field of High-Energy Physics to be converted to open access. CRKN coordinates Canada’s contribution to SCOAP³, sits on the Governing Council, and has provided additional support by participating on the SCOAP³ Executive Committee.
